Changes Out West

Senator John F. Kennedy (I-CA) announced that he would not be seeking another term as D5 Senator. Following this announcement, King (UP-NV) jumped into the race. King is a former Senator and Supreme Court Justice, although he did not last long at either position. Former Senator Hughento (I-OR) announced he was forming an exploratory committee about running for that seat.

The race should be tight, especially if it comes down to Hughento and King. Hughento has support from the left and center, while King has support from the right and center. The district is trending leftward, but a Centrist can and likely will win this election. Big shoes will have to be filled, whoever wins the election, as Senator Kennedy has served as PPT of the Senate for several sessions and is a Former President. He had wide support from all parties.
